Miami River
In 1998 the Florida Legislature created the Miami River Commission aimed to improve the 5.5-mile river and its surroundings. The Commission came out with a redevelopment plan for dredging and cleaning of the river that sparked a flurry of developments along the banks of the river that resulted in the renaissance of the Miami River. The outcome is a complete rebirth of downtown Miami and the residential life along the water that can already be seen with upscale skyscrapers in the Miami River skyline and beautiful sidewalks along the river.
