Airbnb is famous among tourists because of the one of a kind experience which it offers that helps tourists connect with the locals and the place at a deeper level. Now, Airbnb has decided to move it up a notch and jump into architectural designing. The company plans to release its first set of houses in 2019. As reported by their co-founder, Joe Gebbia, project ‘Backyard’ is all about providing comfortable and exotic housing to everyone, even if they are not an Airbnb host.

Reportedly, Backyard will incorporate various modular and architectural aspects of home building and revolutionize living. When Airbnb started out, it aimed to transform the tourism and hospitality industry. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that to an extent, it succeeded in doing so. And in 2019, Airbnb is all set to change the housing life too.

Today, renting has taken over many industries. From global car services like Uber to many online clothing stores: they are everywhere. And now, Airbnb has launched it in housing too with the Backyard project.

The Backyard project will change living styles by creating spaces that can be shared. These houses will be perfect for hosting Airbnb tourists and can even become a guide of their region. But there’s no need to worry, Airbnb understands the importance of privacy and how not everyone is comfortable with being a host. This is why these houses will be available for everyone, independently of being a host or not.

First and foremost, not everyone is comfortable sharing space with strangers and Airbnb’s initiative to make people comfortable with co-living is not appreciated by many. So, it is a serious possibility that Backyard can backfire.

Moreover, do not forget that a space created for co-living, especially with unknown people will result in minimal to no privacy, which is a serious issue for most of us. So while we are all excited to see these new living spaces, we all have our doubts as well.

Airbnb also claims that Backyard will have a place for everyone. From extravagant villas to budget-friendly accommodations – they’ve got all covered. All you need to do is rent the place for as long as you want; no commitment just housing.

Everyone is eager to see this new housing concept Airbnb is going to bring in 2019. Though there are people who are not on board with the idea of co-living, there are many of us that are excited to experience something new.
